1. Create a key
- Sign in to the AutoFire dashboard as a dealership owner or administrator.
- Open MCP & API in the sidebar.
- Name the key for one specific client, such as
Codex on office Mac.
- Choose 30, 60, or 90 days.
- Select only the permissions the client needs.
- Create the key and copy it immediately. AutoFire cannot display it again.
Treat the value beginning with af_mcp_live_ like a password. Never paste it into a prompt, ticket, source file, or committed configuration.
Use this remote server URL:
Send the key as an HTTP bearer token:
Prefer your client’s environment-variable or secret manager. See the dedicated Codex, Claude Code, or generic client guide.
3. Verify access
Ask the client:
The client should request approval, call search_inventory, and return only vehicles from the dealership bound to your key.
4. Revoke when finished
Return to Dashboard → MCP & API and revoke the key. Revocation applies to future AutoFire requests immediately. It does not delete data that a third-party client already received.
