1. Create a key

  1. Sign in to the AutoFire dashboard as a dealership owner or administrator.
  2. Open MCP & API in the sidebar.
  3. Name the key for one specific client, such as Codex on office Mac.
  4. Choose 30, 60, or 90 days.
  5. Select only the permissions the client needs.
  6. Create the key and copy it immediately. AutoFire cannot display it again.
Treat the value beginning with af_mcp_live_ like a password. Never paste it into a prompt, ticket, source file, or committed configuration.

2. Configure a client

Use this remote server URL:
Send the key as an HTTP bearer token:
Prefer your client’s environment-variable or secret manager. See the dedicated Codex, Claude Code, or generic client guide.

3. Verify access

Ask the client:
The client should request approval, call search_inventory, and return only vehicles from the dealership bound to your key.

4. Revoke when finished

Return to Dashboard → MCP & API and revoke the key. Revocation applies to future AutoFire requests immediately. It does not delete data that a third-party client already received.
