Set the key

Place the key in the environment that launches Claude Code:
Use your operating system’s secure environment or secret manager for persistent storage; do not commit the key.

Add the remote server

If your installed Claude Code version offers a native environment-variable field for headers, use it instead of placing a key directly in configuration. CLI syntax can change between releases, so confirm with claude mcp add --help.

Verify

Ask Claude Code:
Review and approve the calls. The client should see only the tools permitted by the key.

Lead-data caution

list_leads excludes names, email addresses, phone numbers, messages, and notes. get_lead appears only when the key has the explicit Lead contact details permission. Check Anthropic’s current data controls before enabling that permission.
