# Connect AutoFire MCP to Grok

> Add AutoFire as a custom connector in Grok, or install the AutoFire plugin in Grok Build.

## Grok on the web and mobile

1. Open [grok.com/connectors](https://grok.com/connectors).
2. Select **New Connector**, then **Custom**.
3. Enter `https://mcp.goautofire.com/mcp` and select **Connect**.
4. When AutoFire opens in your browser, sign in, choose the dealership and permissions, and select **Allow**.

Grok then lists AutoFire's tools in its connector picker.

## Grok Build

AutoFire has been submitted to the xAI plugin marketplace. Once it is merged, install it from the marketplace browser in Grok Build. Until then, add the hosted server as a custom connector as above.

## Test the connection

```text theme={null}
Using AutoFire, list five available vehicles with year, make, model, mileage, and price.
```

Approve the tool call and confirm the results belong to the dealership you chose.

## Disconnect

Remove the connector in Grok, or open **Dashboard → MCP & API → Connected AI apps** in AutoFire and select **Disconnect**. The AutoFire side cuts access immediately.

## Troubleshooting

* **The server must be reachable over the public internet**: AutoFire's endpoint is public; no tunnel is needed.
* **No Allow button**: only dealership owners and accepted admins can connect apps.
* **A tool is missing**: grant the permission on the consent screen. Grant **Lead contact details** only if the workflow needs customer names and contact information.
