# CARFAX Integration

> Show CARFAX history links on vehicle detail pages (Pro)

# CARFAX Integration

Buyers expect history context for used inventory. On **AutoFire Pro**, you can add your CARFAX dealer partner ID so eligible vehicle detail pages show the **Show Me the CARFAX** entry point—shoppers continue to CARFAX.com under their terms.

  AutoFire does not host CARFAX reports. The integration renders a partner-compliant link-out when your plan, dealer ID, and vehicle VIN all qualify.

## Prerequisites

## Enable CARFAX

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Dealer Info">
    From your dashboard sidebar, go to **Dealer Info**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter your CARFAX dealer ID">
    Paste the partner ID CARFAX issued for your dealership.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enable the integration">
    Turn on CARFAX display when you are ready for buttons to appear on eligible vehicle detail pages.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save changes">
    Click **Save Changes**. New and updated listings with valid VINs will show the CARFAX call-to-action where rules pass.

## What shoppers see

On qualifying vehicle detail pages, shoppers see a CARFAX button near photos and pricing. Clicking opens CARFAX's report flow on CARFAX.com—branding, policies, and report availability are governed by CARFAX.

<Tip>
  Keep VINs accurate when you [add or import inventory](/dealer-guide/inventory). A missing or invalid VIN hides the button even when CARFAX is enabled.

## Troubleshooting

    Confirm you are on Pro, CARFAX is enabled, the dealer ID is saved, and the vehicle has a valid 17-character VIN.

    Update the ID in **Dealer Info** and save. Contact CARFAX partner support for account issues outside AutoFire.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="CARFAX policies or branding questions">
    CARFAX controls report content and partner requirements. AutoFire only renders the integration point your account supports.
